iPhone 3G: Still Want One?

Instead of waiting every night at 9PM to see if there is iPhone 3G in stock the next day at your local Apple Store, Top Muffin is providing 15 minute update throughout the day on status.
While it saves you a trip from going down to the store and taking a chance on there not being any in stock, keep in mind that there is more to it than check it on the web and rushing out to get it.  There's typical a line with hours of waiting involved.

Another thing after you check out the stock status online, call ahead to make sure they actually do have the model you're interested in.  Not sure how accurate this tool is.

Note:  I use "local" loosely as there are instances of people driving long distances to get to one.  Also, there's nothing as far as AT&T stores are concerned.  I know that would be too much to ask.

Another note:  While the iPhone 3G is one of the coolest gadgets on the planet, iPhone 2.0 smells of beta.  Not only are daily sudden restarts and app crashes now daily rituals, there are words of hardware not working properly.  I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the hardware.  Once Apple provides us with a new update, lots of these problems should be resolved.

Also, Apple's MobileMe is far from working as advertised.
