Electronista reported HTC has denounced the rumors of its Android phone debut in late 2008. It was a vehement denial to the report issued by a Global Equities Research analyst.
The benefit of the doubt will have go to Google and HTC until either of them says otherwise. Surprisingly, Google did not issue the denial itself. Perhaps, it has learned silence is a more effective defense against rumors and innuendos than issue knee-jerk press releases.
And if there is a delay in the end, a series of press releases of denying the delay will only hurt the credibility of the Android alliance in the long run.
