State of Mobile War - Intro

It's been a busy summer.  Autumn is here.  Foliage and all that good stuff.  Let's get right into it.

My fellow mobile warriors, the state of mobility is strong.  The attention given to mobile devices and potential of mobile Internet is nothing short of amazing.  And despite these dark days of economic uncertainty, I think more and more people will opt to trade in their old mobile phones for something that will let them do more than must make phone calls or text messages.

They'll want something that they can do  the bulk of their computing on a device that let's them be anywhere they want, for work or play.  There are many players in this market.  First I'll talk about who's here giving us what we want and now.  Then we'll leap ahead and peak into the future and see what changes may be in stored.

Here are some of the things we'll talk about:

  • Wireless providers
  • Mobile devices
  • Future devices and features
  • Practicality of Mobile computing - keyboard, touch, battery life
