Laptops Running Off Battery For 24 Hours Coming in 2013

I usually hate to share posts on tech that we may or may not see.  But when it comes to Intel, you can almost bet that it'll happen.  Plus, in the mobile chip business, you better deliver or else, the other guys will.  And by 2013, Intel will have chips that run faster than today's chips but consume 20X less power than anything we've got today.

This new chip will be based on the Haswell archiecture.

Another Judge Strikes Down Individual Mandate In Health Care Law

Another federal judge has struck down the individual mandate portion of the healthcare law that the President supports.

Now, it goes to the Supreme Court in what could be one of the biggest court battles in recent memory and promises to be a huge issue in 2012 elections.

While I'm not sure I like the health care reforms, I have to be fair and ask its opponents what their plans are. Obviously, the status quo isn't working.

Video Preview Of Windows 8 Tablet From Microsoft And Samsung

The title explains just about everything.  It's a great day for Microsoft and Samsung.  Microsoft finally joining the tablet market and Samsung breaking away a bit from Android.

What's exciting about this is that Microsoft is considered the underdog here but I fully expect them to take the mobile market by storm.  Google's Android could be in a lot of trouble.  And While everyone expected Android to put a dent into Apple's iPad share, I think we could be seeing an Apple verus Microsoft rematch in the tablet market.

Everyone Can Get Windows 8 Preview

Anandtech is reporting everyone can get the Windows 8 preview...wow...I'm not quite ready for it yet.  I think I'll wait to buy the whole package when it's out.

Another Front In The Mobile War Brewing: Intel Versus Nvidia

Intel doesn't like Nvidia and Nvidia's CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, doesn't care for Intel and has gone out of his way to be dismissive of Intel by framing the current mobile chip battle between itself and Qualcomm.  I disagree.  Nvidia knows very well that it's Intel it has to worry about.

In fact, Intel is already showing that it will not go quietly into the night and give Nvidia, Qualcomm, or anyone else the smartphone and tablet chip markets.

Spirit of 9/12 Did Not Last Long

After 9/11, member of Congress promised that the country would see an united effort to fight our enemy and to secure the homeland.  And we did.  Whether you like President George W Bush or not, we were never attacked again after 9/11.  However, the unity and hope of the day after 9/11 did not last long.

CNN's post here sort of chronicle what happen after.  Both the Democrats and the Republicans soon fought pitched battles on security issues and about the wars that would be fought.

I'm telling you, I really don't like the two parties that purport to represent our views.  it isn't about ideals that the two parties fight over as they claim.  It's the political gamesmanship that the two are fight over.

Symantec To Offer "Norton One" Service That Will Protect PCs and Mobiles

In 2012, Symantec will debut a service called Norton One, a family subscription that covers personal computers and mobiles.  I know iOS fans will scoff at this since most of the malware issues are on the Android platform.  Whatever, it's a good move by Symantec.  Brilliant since we will still be looking at covering our PCs, so why not our mobile devices?

It idea is that as PCs give way to smartphones and tablets, Symantec is still looking to be included in the mind-share of mobile warriors when it comes to protection against the dark side of a still evolving mobile market.  You can try to be as careful as you like but,  honestly, the Android Marketplace's more open system does provide some pitfalls when it comes to malwares and apps stealing personal information.

I'll try to stay opened minded and see how much this costs and what kind of protection it'll actually offer and how it'll protect mobile devices.
