The latest news is still of the 3G problems. Some had hoped yesterday's iPhone update 2.0.2 would make the problem a thing of the past. Not only was this issue not entirely resolved, there are reports of app crashes after the update was applied.
Appleinsider is reporting Steven Jobs has promised a fix in September. Yahoo News is reporting that Apple spokewoman saying the fix would "improve communication with 3G networks".
Judging by the lack of supporting blogs to claim the 3G problem fixed, this most current update either failed to or did not address the issue.
iPhone-iPod Update:
- Macworld reports on 3G speeds and explains the speed differentials.
- iLounge is reporting screen shots of Nike+ app. There is no indication if new accessories are needed. My bet is yes. I just don't see Nike lending Apple their good name out of the kindness of their hearts.
- iPodnn allows iPhone or the iPod Touch to control a Mac through WiFi. Already downloaded it! These are functions that are likely going to be a part of future updates. Apple would not pass up the chance to leverage the closeness between their mobile devices and computers.
- Mobile Safari doubled it share in August, indicate strong sales. It's just one analyst and their breed hasn't exactly done well lately with the Android delay fuds. But if you want to find out more, check out Macsimum News and Appleinsider.
Mac Update:
- We are in desperate need for Mac updates we hate being right. We are not going to see anything until at least the second stage of iPhone launches are over. Given What Apple has learned of late about being stretched then, we are willing to go out on a limb here and say late September or early October. Remember, after the iPhones, we're also looking at new iPods or, God forbid, that mystery device no seems to be talking about anymore.
